How this app works
A short tour of your own app, made inside the app with the same tools you'll use. At the end, you build your own lesson and teach Daddy how it works.

Loading your place… Nothing here is marked or scored, and nothing you tap here changes your learning record. Tap a part when you've read it so you know where you were.
The loop
the loop Henley goes round
- Learn something
- Show Ari
- Build a lesson
- Teach Daddy

This place has one job
MakeDaddySmart helps you understand something well enough to teach it to Daddy — and then helps you keep it.
- There are four places: Home, Build, Library and Teach.
- Home is where you start: what you were doing, your subjects, your mission and your reward.
- Nothing here is a mark or a score. Teaching Daddy is the point, not being perfect.
- You go round the same loop: learn something, show Ari, build a lesson, teach Daddy, look at it again later.

Home — Ari sits beside your work, and the four places are along the top. Made with: Facts & words tool (checked line by line before freezing)
Part 2 of 7
Meet Ari — useful, not magic
Ari is an AI guide inside the app. Not a person, not a friend, not magic. Ari can be wrong, so you check.
- Ari only knows what the app tells her — that's the “Helping with…” line at the top of her panel. If it's wrong, change it.
- Ari offers. You decide. Nothing changes in your work until you say yes.
- When you're stuck, Ari starts by finding out how you're thinking about it, then uses the smallest help that actually helps — a hint, or a similar example.
- Sometimes the smallest useful help is just teaching you the thing properly. That's allowed. Afterwards Ari asks you to explain it back or use it on a new problem.
- If Ari says something that looks wrong, say so. Correcting Ari is part of the work, not rudeness.

Ari's panel — the “Helping with…” line is everything Ari knows about right now. Quick check
What should you do if Ari says something that looks wrong?
Pick one — the answer stays hidden until you do.
Made with: Explain it tool (three versions drafted; the “three fixed steps” wording was corrected)
Part 3 of 7
Show Ari what you're learning
Build is where you show Ari your real learning work — snap the page, or say it out loud.
- Say it out loud and Ari writes down what she heard. You fix it before anything is sent — your words, not hers.
- Your recording is deleted the moment you send or delete the transcript.
- Snap a page and Ari says what she can read, what she can't read properly, and how sure she is.
- If Ari can't read something, she should say so — not guess. If she guesses, tell her.

Real capture: Ari heard it, and you get to fix it before it counts.
Real capture: what Ari can see, what she can't, and how sure she is. Spot what's wrong
Henley takes a blurry photo of her maths homework. Ari can't see the numbers but confidently says the answer is 42. What did Ari get wrong?
Pick one — the answer stays hidden until you do.

Turn an idea into a lesson
New lessons start in Library. Build is for capturing your learning work; Library is where ideas and lessons live at every stage.
- Library holds saved ideas and lessons at every stage — not just finished ones.
- Tell Ari what you want to teach Daddy. Ari plans a few different angles.
- You pick the angle. Picking one is a real decision — the whole lesson follows from it.
- That gives you a Studio with a plan and empty blocks waiting for you to fill.

Real capture: Ari drafts a few angles — you choose one.
Studio — your blocks on the left, the tools that draft them on the right. No right answer
If you opened the app right now, what would you want Ari to help with first?
There's no right answer here.
Made with: Planner tool + Slides tool (the four places, with their real jobs)
Part 5 of 7
Be the director
Every tool gives you a draft. A draft is a suggestion — you put it in, change it, or throw it out.
- Each tool says “Draft — your call”, with “Put it in” and “Not this one”.
- Turning a draft down is a good move, not a failure. So is rewriting it in your own words.
- The habit that works with any AI: say your goal, give useful context, ask for options, check the result, change it or reject it if it's wrong, and use what's good.
- The lesson is yours because you made the calls, not because the app made it for you.

Real capture: nothing lands in your lesson until you say “Put it in”. Put the habit in order
Move these into the order you'd actually do them, start to finish:
- 1. Check the result
- 2. Say your goal
- 3. Use what is good
- 4. Give useful context
- 5. Change it or reject it if it's wrong
- 6. Ask for options or help

Part 6 of 7
Practise, then teach Daddy
Rehearse with Ari playing Daddy, then teach the real Daddy in Teach Mode.
- In rehearsal Ari answers like Daddy would — confused, curious, checking, and sometimes completely off topic.
- Teach Mode goes full screen. You drive it: you show a block, Daddy answers, and you decide when to reveal.
- Good opening lines you already have: “This is Ari. Ari is an AI guide who helps me build these lessons.” and “Ari isn't always right — I'm the one who decides.”
- Teaching Daddy shows what you understand so far and what still needs work. It doesn't mean you've mastered it forever — that's what looking again later is for.

Real capture: Ari-as-Daddy asks back, then tells you what to do next.
Real capture: Daddy's turn in Teach Mode — he answers, you decide when to show the answer. Made with: Voice & performance tool + Rehearse tool
Part 7 of 7
What happens after
Teaching isn't the end. The app remembers, brings things back, and Daddy pays out the reward.
- Your subject pages show what you're working on, what you've shown you can do, and what's worth another look.
- Things you understood once come back later, because remembering later is the real test.
- A verified teaching session normally earns $5, up to two paid sessions a week. Rewards are for teaching Daddy — never for marks, speed or time online.
- Daddy looks after the reward list and pays it out. You choose what an earned credit becomes.
- When you're ready, Ari can show you what to explore next — a connected idea, a deeper version of the same idea, or where it shows up in the real world.

Real capture: your subject page, in three honest lists.
Real capture: what you've earned, what's left this week, and your choices. Made with: Facts & words tool (reward rules checked against the product's own rules)

What Daddy might ask you back
- So if Ari is helping you this much, is the robot doing all the thinking for you?
- If we want to start a brand new lesson from scratch, which room do we go to?
- What happens if Ari says something that isn't true?
- Do you think Ari knows how to make a perfect grilled cheese sandwich?
You've got this. Just remember to tell him that you're the one making the calls.
Your turn
Now build your own lesson and teach Daddy how this works
You've seen how Ari drafts and you decide. Mission 0 walks you all the way through it — talk to Ari, show her something real, build a lesson with the tools, rehearse it, then teach Daddy for real.

Mission 0 — twelve checkpoints, and nothing ticks itself off.
Start my first missionHow this course was made
Made inside this app with the real tools. Where a draft said something that wasn't true enough, it was corrected — that's the same job you do with Ari.
- Planner: Three lesson angles; the walk-through order comes from the one chosen.Corrected: The chosen draft leaned on a factory/assembly-line metaphor; the app is described plainly instead.
- Facts & words: The true statements about Ari, the four places, Library, Build and teaching.
- Explain it: How Ari helps when you're stuck.Corrected: The draft made it a fixed three-step recipe; corrected to: understand your thinking first, then the smallest useful help — which can be teaching it properly — then explain back.
- Slides: The job of each of the four places.
- Make it interactive: The quiz, the poll, the ordering activity and the spot-what's-wrong challenge.
- Pictures & diagrams: The cover picture (AI-drawn) and the five-step loop diagram (built from the labels).
- Voice & performance: The opening lines for teaching Daddy.
- Rehearse: The questions Daddy is likely to ask back.
